Women Worth Writing To
A personal milestone project
This began as a personal milestone project to honor the women who had shaped my first sixty years of life… family members, coworkers, friends, and even a celebrity or fictional character or two. Through sixty handwritten letters… each paired with a symbolic flower and mailed as a tangible keepsake… the project became an exploration of memory, gratitude, friendship, identity, and the ways we continue becoming throughout our lives.
What began as an act of reflection gradually revealed itself as something much larger. The process of writing these letters became a living practice of witnessing… not only witnessing the people who shaped me, but also recognizing the many versions of myself that existed within those relationships and seasons of life. It deepened my understanding that meaningful human connection plays a profound role in how we grow, heal, evolve, and understand ourselves.
At its heart, the project explores the idea that people deserve to be thoughtfully seen, named, remembered, and celebrated. It asks what happens when we intentionally reflect someone’s worth back to them… and what becomes possible when we fully acknowledge the impact people have had on our lives.
Flowers for My Ladies exists at the intersection of storytelling, personal growth, friendship, and becoming. Through handwritten letters, floral symbolism, reflection, and shared memory… the project has become both a tribute to the past and an invitation to continue evolving, connecting, and flourishing at every stage of life.
